An album of photos of the DLSA Competition Team
at the Oceanside Coalition Contest on August 17, 2008
have been added to the Main Gallery page. Also
an abbum from Dewey weber Team Day at
Old Man's on August 15, 2008
has been started. And I will be working on the rest
next. As well as getting an album
of the Pro's from the PLA Contest in Ventura
on June 21 & 22 going too. So keep checking back

This contest is for kids 17 and under

All of Saturday's WSA Finals heats are
now done and in the DotPhoto Album. That album
has 288 images, where usually a one day
contest is about 180 to 200 images. I have started working on Sunday's
final heats and the Album should be set up soon. I am
planning to put Sunday's photos in a seperate
album to make it easier for you to look at each days heats.
This weekend is the Dewey Weber Classic Longboard Contest
at Doheny State Beach. There are still openings for all
age groups. See the online entry form and info at
www.deweyweber.com
Also my club, the Doheny Longboard Surfing Association
is having our 12th annual Menehune Contest on
Saturday June 28th at Doheny. And it is open to all kids
17 and under. 12 year old and under Competitors
may ride either a lonfboard or shortboard.
Over 12 years old, you must ride a longboard.
There are still plenty of openings in all age groups.
And the entry fee is very reasonable. See the online

And this Saturday in conjunction with the Dewey Weber Classic
and the Surf-A-Rama being held in the park, my friends and I are
showing the animated movie Surf's Up in the main party area.
The park Rangers asked us to put it on to add even more
family fun that day. The movie starts at dusk and it is free to all.
If you would like to attend our other film nights
we annually show surfing and surf related movies
the last Saturday of July and August right on the beach at
The Point at Sano Surf Beach. The movies start at dusk.
Bring your family and friends and make a day of it surfing and having fun.

the newest batch of images from the WSA Finals have
been uploaded to the album. I am now 3/4 of the way
done with saturday's heats. I still have
over 800 photos from Sunday's final heats to go
through. So please be patient with me. It still may be a few weeks
before everything is completed. Every year the Finals takes me
more time to complete because of the high level of competition
and all the great surfing that goes on. It makes for many
more good shots than usual. Take care and keep checking back.

The photos from the WSA Steamer Lane Contest
are now all done and uploaded to the DotPhoto Album.
Also 3/4 of the Morro Bay Contest photos are done and
uploaded to the new Morro Bay DotPhoto Album.
I hope to have them all completed by the end of this week
so that I can start working on the WSA Finals Photos as
soon as the contest is over this weekend. If you think that you
still want to order images from this years WSA Season,
then make sure that you do so soon. When next season starts
the photos from the 2007/2008 season may go away
to make room for new images. Take care and keep

The photo album from the WSA Santa Cruz Contest is
about halfway finished and the completed images are
ready to view on the DotPhoto Album.

The photos from then Salt Creek Contest are now
uploaded to the DotPhoto album for that contest. There may
possibly be a few more when I double check to see if they are
all done. I did not process them in order from the first heat to
the last like in the past. So I have to check to make sure
everything is complete. It is my opinion that the shots from that
contest are the best images from the current season, if not in the
history of the time I have been covering the WSA.

The new albums using the DotPhoto photo hosting website
will literally take 10 hours plus off of the time it has taken
me to upload them in the past. I will be
continuing to tweak those albums to enhance and maximize
the individual album viewing. I wanted to just get them
all on there before fooling around and experimenting with
the various options available. It should be just
as good as what as been available on this site in the past, and
hopefully when it is done, you will be able to order prints right
from the album page. For image files, you will continue to
order them as you have in the past.
But do not order any prints from the albums now, or you will get
just what you see there. Little 1 inch by 2 inch images with big
watermarks on them. I will also be checking the H.B. Pier
Contest shots for any additional decdent shots to add.

Photos from the WSA H.B. Pier Contest have now been posted to our
new online photo hosting website. See the link to click on, on the WSA Photos page.
This new photo hosting is going to save me approx. 10 - 15 hours
of work per contest. That has been one of the things that has been
very frustrating for me since I started doing this.
When you look at the photos, just make notes of the ones that you would
like to purchase. Then come back here and contact me with the details,
just like you have in the past. Like anything new, it may take a bit of tweaking.
But in the long run, this looks like the best way to do it.
I still have some more H.B. Contest shots to work on.
After that, the Salt Creek stuff will be next. I have already
started the online album. See the link.
Those photos will be really good, so keep checking back.

The rest of the Oceanside Contest Photos have been now
added to the album. I think the shots from that
contest turned out very good and I wanted to take
my time and process all of the best shots.
Now I can start on the H.B. Pier Contest. To be
honest, I reviewed the images and was not as
happy with them as the previous contest shots because
of how far out it was breaking and how far the peaks
were from each other. I know that the Salt Creek Contest
photos should be good because of the beach break conditions there.
The normal turn around for completed contest photos to be
published on my website is about two weeks. So please be
patient with me as far as publishing the H.B. Contest and the
Salt Creek Contest photos. Having 3 contests take place
in 4 weeks definitely has an impact on my workload.

The last of the WSA 9th St., Huntington Beach
Contest have been added to the album. Because
of the way the shots were numbered, they are with the other
images with a #3 stock number prefix. They are
#'s 332-392. I will be at the Oceanside WSA Contest
on Sunday 2/10/2008. The weather looks great, and hopefully

The majority of the WSA 9th St. Huntington Beach Contest
photos have been uploaded into the new album on the
WSA Gallery Page. I still have to process the last 100
shots from that day. The completed Album should be
done by Monday 2/4/2008 at the latest.

Most of the photos from the WSA Ponto Contest
have been uploaded to the WSA Gallery Page.
The foggy and low light conditions that day
made for many sub par images from the contest.
I salvaged as many as I could and still have some more
to work on to finish that album up. So check
back for the final update. I plan to have
it completed by Monday 11/26 at the very latest.
(a bit of a delay because of the Thanksgiving Holiday)
I will be at the SanO Club Contest at Old Man's
on Saturday 11/17. So maybe I will see you there.
